There has been tremendous growth with brands using Facebook pages. Which proves that many companies and brands are understanding the importance of using Social Media. The bad thing is, most are going about it all wrong. I don’t want you to make the same mistakes many others are making, that is why we are dedicated to helping you boost your brand with social media the right way.
Maybe you have seen commercials, promotional materials, heard DJs talking about it on the radio or even billboards… All saying something like “Like us on Facebook” or “Join us on Facebook”. Here is where part of the problem is…
First, why should I “Like” you on Facebook?! What’s the point in joining you on Facebook?… See what I mean? Asking someone to “Like” you in NOT enough!
You Must Give Them A Reason As To WHY They Should “Like” You.
Giving them a reason is much more powerful and effective. Maybe they should “Like” you to get special coupons, or have exclusive access to Facebook only training videos. Whatever your reason is, you need to make sure people know it.
Now, depending on your brand and what you offer, you may need to get extra creative to make it worth it for the Facebook user. It might be hard to get excited about a tire company or a type of food brand. So get creative and give them a reason WHY.
But wait, that’s not all…
Once you have come up with your WHY, you need to make sure you back up that reason with value. You need to make sure your reason WHY, your promise, your incentive is jam packed with value. If you skip this, you will join the majority of Facebook pages that fizzle out. Not to mention you will be expressing something about your brand that is not good.
This is why it is very important to have a solid Social Media Marketing plan. Everything should be well thought out… From the incentive to the promise, the value offered and the desired results.
From there you can have a lot of fun with contests, surveys, give-a-ways and more to keep people engaged and coming back. We will be talking more about that in future articles.
So quick recap:
• Come up with WHY people should “Like” you.
• Back up your WHY with value.
• Integrate your WHY into your marketing material.
• Engage your audience and build loyalty.
So WHY should I “Like” you? Let me know!
